The Brief
How do you create an irresistible, trend-setting wellness product on a strict budget? This was the exact puzzle direct-selling giant Amway recently asked our team to solve.
To support a major beauty and skincare campaign for Nutriway (an Amway brand), we were tasked with designing a functional wellness accessory that consumers would genuinely love, use and keep.
The stakes were high: the final product had to feel premium, look stylish, and instantly drive retail sales. The catch? Everything from initial sourcing and production to printing and final delivery needed to be handled within a constrained budget.
The Solution
We set out to prove that a tight budget doesn’t necessarily mean compromising on quality. Rejecting disposable giveaways, we pivoted to a singular, high-impact product that would seamlessly fit into a modern self-care routine: a bespoke, vibrant pink silicone facial ice roller.
Perfectly aligned with current beauty trends, this reusable tool added genuine value to a skincare regimen. Users would simply fill the compact cylinder with water, freeze, and glide over skin to reduce inflammation and refresh the overall look and feel of their complexion.
The strategy succeeded through manufacturing and logistical simplicity. By choosing a single-injection-mould design made from premium, food-grade silicone, we eliminated complex assembly steps and slashed production costs. Further, the roller’s compact, lightweight nature meant it could be effortlessly slipped into existing shipping boxes as a delightful surprise for customers, keeping distribution overheads to a minimum.
By prioritising clever design over complexity, we transformed a budget-conscious giveaway into an unmissable, everyday beauty essential.
The Result
The product-driven campaign delivered a huge return on investment for Amway. From a strictly financial standpoint, the program achieved a perfect trifecta of volume, affordability, and total cost control.
We comfortably met every core target set by Amway while also setting a brand-new benchmark for what can be accomplished on a very constrained budget.
In assessing the value and success of the campaign, Amway reported universal gratitude- customers simply couldn’t get enough of the gift we had designed.
Instead of sitting forgotten at the back of a cupboard, these rollers had become an active part of the consumer's day, finding a permanent home on bathroom vanities, kitchen benches, and in everyday household freezers. This constant, high-frequency utility gave Amway the kind of long-term brand exposure that you simply cannot buy through short-lived digital ads or traditional media placements.
